The word Reiki means, Universal Life Force Energy, it is unconditional LOVE.
A Reiki channel needs to be attuned by a Reiki Master Teacher. Reiki is self healing or healing others.

The person being attuned by a Reiki Master is referred to as a channel or healer.
Their whole “being” undergoes changes to allow the energy to flow through them to become a vehicle for this beautiful healing energy. When someone or something is in need of this energy, it can be drawn through the healer.

Reiki energy heals on all The Body’s Levels - Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual.  The healer may, or may not know what needs healing. The energy has intelligence far beyond human and will go where it is needed. A Reiki channel provides access to the energy, drawn from Life Force to the recipient to where it is needed. The recipient could be themselves.

A Reiki Channel does not need to join a group or club to learn and use Reiki, once they are attuned to the energy via a Master Teacher. They will never lose it and the more they use it, the better it gets.
Reiki is Simple, Flexible and Intuitive.

There is no “right” and no “wrong” way and certainly no “only way” to do Reiki.
People will probably find as their intuition develops, (Reiki does increase intuition), they devise their own methods of administering Reiki that they feel comfortable with. It cannot harm or destroy, (what can be harmed by love?) it revitalizes and creates harmony and can also reveal the truth of the emotional link to illness that may be manifesting in one’s physical reality. Reiki heals the “whole person”. Disease can begin with emotional sources such as guilt, criticism, anger, resentment, fear, insecurity and many more which lodge in the body as a physical disease. It is quite common for a healer to be treating a person’s headache, which is attached on a deeper emotional level and to have the person start expressing their emotional thoughts which are attached to the physical pain they have been experiencing elsewhere in the body.

Reiki can be likened to radio waves which are always present that we could be unaware until a transmitter picks them up and converts them into sound. So it is with Reiki being converted into healing energy by a Reiki channel.

Reiki can be used on pets, plants and seeds prior to planting, food while it is fresh, revitalize water and to harmonize medicines. People have reported decreased side affects to medication after using Reiki on them. Some people Reiki food when eating out in
Restaurants and take-away venues. Reiki cold be given to cigarettes in an attempt to give up smoking.

Reiki is a wonderful first aid and can be used in conjunction with normal first aid procedures, e.g. cuts, hands held over the cut; this can be with or without bandages as the need may be. Reiki will greatly speed the healing process. Burns can be treated in the usual way, e.g. cold water first and give Reiki to the nearest point to the burn.

Reiki can be wonderful for calming babies and shifting wind or assisting in easier breathing if prone to asthma, colic or similar pain.

Reiki is given through the Master/Teacher, Channel from a much Higher Healing Force and it is to this Higher Healing Force, that thanks are given.

A Reiki channel does not heal; it is the Reiki that heals, isn’t this a humbling feeling!
From our experience the more we give thanks and openly express our gratitude to our Creative Force, the stronger the Reiki flows.

 What to expect after a Reiki Attunement

Once you have been attuned to Reiki, all you need to do, to activate it, is to place your hands on whom ever or whatever needs it, remembering all matter is made of energy, all matter can utilize Reiki. You do not need to enter an altered state of being for the energy to flow, it will flow whenever the need is there and being mindful of the fact you are channeling the energy.

Anyone can be attuned to Reiki, age or handicap is no barrier. The energy can be felt in many different ways, it is all a matter of perception (how you perceive the energy to feel). Different feelings you could experience, include but are not limited to, heat, icy cold, tingling, pulsing, fine vibrations, heaviness of the hands or your hands may feel as though they are stuck like glue. You could go through a few of these different feelings within a short space of time or you could experience one, for an extended period of time.  When you are giving Reiki, someone may not perceive the energy in the same way as you do. You may feel you have icy cold hands and the person you are giving Reiki to, may feel them as really hot and vice versa.

Reiki will work through plaster casts, walls, clothing, and wood, lead, anything; therefore there is no need to remove clothing.

Acute conditions such as accidents and sudden illnesses respond much quicker than chronic conditions as they have been of long standing duration and need more Reiki to bring about harmony within the body.

Sometimes “cleansing” reactions occur as toxins are released from the body. These may present as headaches, tiredness, diarrhoea, nausea or cold and flu symptoms.
These reactions can be viewed in a positive way as they are a part of the healing process. Drink plenty of water to get to the other side of this phase.

Emotionally, some people may release a few tears, this is also good, Reiki them through it. Most people feel lighter and emotionally stronger afterwards.

 Reiki 2 and the Higher Self

A channel attuned to Reiki Level One can then be shown Reiki Symbols to use, which will empower them. As with the First Degree Reiki, the channel must be attuned to the symbols for them to work.

The Reiki symbols offer keys to open doors to higher levels of awareness; therefore Channels, feel the difference after their attunements and use of the symbols. A universal language, the symbols affect the subconscious mind and connect directly to the “God-consciousness”.

The Higher Self is all knowing. It is the connection from our soul to the higher source, devoid of ego, it recognizes and acknowledges healing and what is needed to remove blockages from past and present.

Reiki symbols can be used to access the Higher Self of a person, an animal, a situation or a plant. Reiki Symbols can be used to access past life memories and send healing into the past.
